First M&A Academy

Danish Tech Startups (DTS) launched its first M&A Academy to help startups navigate mergers and acquisitions. The event covered essential topics such as targeting, valuations, and financing, providing practical insights through case studies. Participants learned how to identify the right acquisition targets, accurately assess company valuations, and explore financing options. The M&A Academy also offered a valuable opportunity to connect with key M&A figures and leaders from Danish growth companies in an informal setting, supporting the growth and success of Danish startups.
Supporting Innovation in Ukraine

Danish Tech Startups started actively working to improve conditions for Danish innovation in Ukraine. We advocate for financial and basic support to enable Danish companies and ukraine themselves to contribute meaningfully to Ukraine’s crisis. Innovation is vital in this effort.
Folkemødet

In 2023, Danish Tech Startups made its debut at Folkemødet, Denmark’s premier political festival. At Folkemødet, DTS engaged in discussions on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the critical role of startups in driving economic growth. Following this, we began participating annually.
Meeting with Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas.

Our political efforts began to bear fruit with support from key individuals. An example of this was when Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas participated in a morning briefing on innovation with us. Hosted by DTS, this event highlighted the importance of cooperation across the Nordic and Baltic regions.
First Unicorn Academy

On October 13th, 2022, Danish Tech Startups (DTS) launched Unicorn Academy in Aarhus. This quarterly event provides startups with an insider’s perspective on the journey to creating a Danish unicorn, straight from the founders. In a cozy and informal atmosphere, industry leaders openly discussed their experiences, shedding light on both the triumphs and difficulties of scaling a startup.
First Copenhagen Townhall

A celebration of shared goals and collective aspirations. The First Copenhagen Townhall on October 28th, 2021, was a landmark event for the Danish Tech Startup Association (DTS), symbolizing the power of community within the tech ecosystem. This gathering brought together a diverse group of tech entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers, all united by a common interest in the future of Denmark’s tech industry.
The Political Work Begins

By representing the collective interests of the startup community, DTS has become a crucial player in the political arena, working to ensure that the unique needs of tech startups are recognized and addressed in national policy discussions. Our efforts have not only focused on immediate pandemic-related challenges but also on creating a long-term, sustainable framework that supports the continuous evolution and success of the tech industry in Denmark.
50 Tech Entrepreneurs Gathered

In the wake of an unexpected global pandemic, it became clear to tech entrepreneurs in Denmark that no industry organization was specifically advocating for the needs of tech startups. The crisis forced us to unite and collaborate in guiding the government on economic support measures, ensuring that tech startups could continue to grow and innovate in Denmark. In response to this urgent need, over 50 experienced tech entrepreneurs and investors came together in the summer of 2020 to establish the Danish Tech Startup Association (DTS). Read more here
